First, 300 biomarkers. Then, the forest.

The Swiss longevity clinic that started in Montreux in 1931 is opening its first Southeast Asian resort: 40 pool villas in Phuket's Tri Vananda, with a detailed medical assessment at the start of each stay.

Clinique La Prairie Phuket is a new kind of place for a very old clinic. Clinique La Prairie was founded in 1931 in Montreux, on Lake Geneva, by Professor Paul Niehans. For most of the time since, a stay meant a lakeside clinic in Switzerland. The Phuket resort is its first in Southeast Asia, and it brings the same medical approach to a tropical estate. Its official site describes the Phuket opening as autumn 2026, and press reports name November 2026.

The order matters, and the clinic insists on it. Every stay begins with a medical assessment. Industry reporting describes the full version, the Longevity Master Assessment, as analysing more than 300 biomarkers across the body’s systems. After the assessment come the villas, the lakes and the trees.

The idea

The resort sits inside Tri Vananda, a low-density wellness community in Phuket. When it was announced in 2024, the developers described biophilic design, renewable energy and a tiered wetland system for filtering water. Clinique La Prairie operates the health resort there, in partnership with the Thai hospitality group Montara, which is also connected to Trisara.

The clinic calls its approach the Longevity Method. It is a five-step process: assess, understand, personalise, intervene, then monitor over time. The method rests on four pillars, which are medicine, nutrition, movement and wellbeing. The clinic says a multidisciplinary team leads it, with specialists in internal medicine, cardiology, neurology, endocrinology, nutrition and rehabilitation, among others. A longevity coach follows your progress during the stay.

All of this is the clinic’s own framing. A large biomarker panel can give you a detailed picture of your health at one moment. What you do with that picture after you fly home matters more.

The testing comes first. The value of the stay depends on what you do after it.

What you actually do at Clinique La Prairie Phuket

Phuket has four signature programmes. Each runs for at least seven days and six nights:

  • Reverse Aging, which the clinic positions around cellular function and general vitality
  • Essence of Vitality, focused on energy, metabolism and recovery
  • Master Detox, built around nutrition, lifestyle and the body’s elimination processes
  • Life Reset, aimed at stress and mental balance

There are also two shorter stays. Health Diagnostics lasts three days and focuses on testing and imaging. Discover Longevity is a three-night introduction that combines diagnostics with some treatments.

Outside the clinic, the resort is built for the slower part of the stay. Reports list:

  • a 50-metre pool
  • a fitness centre developed with Technogym
  • a spa with sauna, steam and cold plunge
  • recovery tools including cryotherapy and infrared

Meals are served at Seeds, the resort’s restaurant. Its menus follow anti-inflammatory principles and are adjusted to each guest’s results. Pre-opening coverage also mentions forest trails, kayaking on the estate’s lakes, and workshops on Thai medicinal plants.

The space

There are 40 private villas, and each one has its own pool. Clinique La Prairie lists three types:

  • Signature Villa: about 120 square metres, open-plan
  • Grand Villa: about 160 square metres, with a walk-in closet
  • Royal Villa: about 400 square metres, with a full pantry and its own spa room with a massage bed

The clinic says the villas look out over mountains and lakes. It describes the design as contemporary, with natural materials and an emphasis on privacy.

The resort’s meditation and mindfulness space is set in a grand hall named after Manohra, the classical southern Thai dance. One pre-opening report describes it as inspired by traditional Thai architecture and surrounded by water gardens. The resort is reported to be about 20 minutes from Phuket International Airport.

Who it’s for

This is a medical stay in a resort setting, not a beach holiday with wellness added on. It suits people who want a full, supervised look at their health and a week to think about the results. That includes executives who already do an annual physical and want something more thorough. People looking for a spa break may find the structure more than they need.

Good to know

  • Where: Tri Vananda, Phuket, Thailand. Reports put it about 20 minutes from the airport and 10 minutes from the nearest beach.
  • When: The clinic’s site gives autumn 2026. Industry press says November 2026.
  • Minimum stay: Signature programmes are seven days and six nights. Shorter introductory and diagnostic stays are also available.
  • How to book: Through the Clinique La Prairie Phuket page. We haven’t listed rates, because the official site did not give them when this article went out.
  • Before you go: Ask what the assessment includes, how your data is stored, and what follow-up happens once you are home.

Why it matters for New York

The useful lesson from Phuket is how the stay is ordered: measure first, then rest, then follow up. A New York club or hotel can’t offer a 40-villa estate. It can offer a serious assessment and a plan that continues after the first visit, and that part of the model works in a city as well as in a forest.
